The Twa Corbies

In the last days of the Mad King, a High Septon from a cadet house in the Vale known only as the ‘Grim one’ spoke out against him & cursed the Targaryen line. In his fury, the King blockaded the High Sept and made sure that the old man succumbed to hunger over many weeks. The King proclaimed that he had not shed the blood of so pios a man.

Back in the vale, the senior branch of the family ‘the Red Corbie’ attended a planning meeting at their Cadet Branche’s fortification. The ‘Black Corbies’ were infuriated to be told they would have to betray Jon Arryn and ‘forget’ the blasphemy done to their High Septon. The Red Corbies never rose from their chairs – all were stabbed and their men surprised & massacred. Legend persist that some of the Red Corbies survived to flee into the Mountains of the Mist.

The Black Corbies rose a new banner – and assisted Jon Arryn in taing Gulltown. Now they sit uneasy – whilst their walls are inpenetrable they have lost the love of the people….
